Stop Terry! Arteta pleads for refs to clamp down on Chelsea captain's fouls

Mikel Arteta has singled out John Terry for making ugly fouls and insists the authorities should make an example of the Chelsea captain. Everton midfielder Arteta accused Terry of being a serial offender and compared his challenges with the one by Birmingham's Martin Taylor which put Arsenal's Eduardo out for nearly a year. Terry was sent off against Everton in December for a rash challenge on Leon Osman and Arteta believes that, while there is nothing  wrong with playing hard, Terry is a player who habitually oversteps the mark and should be reined in when Everton face Chelsea on Wednesday. The Spaniard said: 'That they let the game flow is not a  bad thing, but I think they have to be stricter with one shocking thing. 'With a challenge like the one Eduardo received or some of those that Terry makes, late tackles. They should put a stop to that. 'That they let you play and be a bit more aggressive doesn't seem a bad thing to me. That's better than always stopping the game because I dive, I get up, I protest. I wouldn't take that out of the game because the respect for players, be they local or foreign players, is very great and  beautiful.'
