Vieira confident of World Cup place

Manchester City new boy Patrick Vieira believes he is "100%" likely to be heading to the World Cup with France despite the fact he is yet to play for the Barclays Premier League outfit. Vieira was reunited with former Inter Milan boss Roberto Mancini earlier this month as he moved to Eastlands in a bid to force his way back into Raymond Domenech's France squad. The former France captain, who found himself sidelined under Jose Mourinho at Inter where he also struggled with injuries, has yet to make his debut for City as he recovers from a calf problem but is confident of booking his ticket to South Africa. "As I am an optimistic person I'm going to say that I have 100% chance," Vieira told Canal+. "The determination is there. In life we are all the same, we give ourselves aims. They can be reached or not. "In my head I don't see myself missing the World Cup. What I know is that I have to play, simple as that. "There are no guarantees nor certainties but (Domenech) told me that as soon as I'm playing there is no reason for me not to be selected."
