Coleman issues plea to supporters

There are growing concerns over falling attendances at the Fraser Eagle Stadium, although that has been overshadowed by reports suggesting certain players bet against themselves in last season's clash with Bury. Coleman told the Lancashire Telegraph: "There is no way I am going to have a pop at our fans. They have been magnificent and have every right to voice their opinion - and I am certainly not going to have a go at the people who pay their money to come here. But I will have a go at the ones who have deserted us. "We are in danger of history repeating itself at this club because of the so-called fans who don't come. This club was under financial pressure in the 60s and went bust - and that could happen again. "In the current climate we cannot afford to be losing fans and at the moment we are losing them hand over fist. We can't have that happening if we are to move on." Meanwhile, Dave O'Neill's takeover of the club looks set to be completed by the end of next week.
