Birmingham boss Alex McLeish falls short with £1.6m bid for Nigeria striker Peter Odemwingie
Birmingham have failed in a 'ridiculous' £1.6million bid to sign Nigeria World Cup striker Peter Odemwingie from Lokomotiv Moscow. The 28-year-old was put on the market before the tournament in South Africa, with Lokomotiv looking asking about £8.5m for a player with just a year left on his current contract. Everton, Fulham and French teams have also shown interest in Odemwingie, but Birmingham are the only team to table a former bid.
