Ireland points the finger

Manchester City playmaker Stephen Ireland has demanded that some of his team-mates stop 'hiding' in matches. City suffered a disappointing 3-1 first leg defeat to Hamburg in their Uefa Cup quarter-final tie on Thursday night. The Eastlands club have struggled on the road this season, mustering just one Premier League triumph away from the City of Manchester Stadium to date.Ireland, who opened the scoring in Germany, is looking for improvement as the team aim to make a late charge for a European berth while also eyeing a comeback versus Hamburg."We have got more quality, but at home we need to show it and be braver," said Ireland."I think at times some people were hiding and when we had our backs against the wall they were not brave enough to come out and fight."
