Chelsea are hoping injured duo Didier Drogba and Jose Bosingwa are fit to face Liverpool at Anfield in the Champions League quarter-finals.
Striker Drogba has had a reaction to an ankle injury and did not play at Newcastle on Saturday.
He must be considered a major doubt but has trained this week for Wednesday and Chelsea will hope he is able to play.
Bosingwa returned from international duty with Portugal nursing a hamstring problem and also did not figure in the 2-0 win at St James' Park.
Defender Ricardo Carvalho, who had a leg injury, was an unused substitute in that match but is expected to figure at Anfield while Nicolas Anelka is likely to continue in place of Drogba.
