Byrne: Scunny did not do enough

The Iron got off to the perfect start courtesy of Gary Hooper's strike before the Hatters hit back via Chris Martin and Tom Craddock but Grant McCann popped up to send the game into extra-time. But it was to be Luton's day at Wembley following Claude Gnakpa's winner and Byrne told the club's official website: "We are feeling all sorts of emotions - ifs and buts - but ultimately we didn't do enough on the day. "I feel very down because we came down here with aspirations of lifting up that cup and bring some glory to the club and to the town. "This club has come so far since I first joined and we were in League Two but it would have been great to have won another trophy." Meanwhile, manager Nigel Adkins has confirmed that David Mirfin was taken off towards the end of the game following a clash of heads and is now a doubt for Friday's clash with Huddersfield at Glanford Park.
