Canaries extend Mooney stay

The Irishman joined the Canaries from Reading in March and was set to return to the Madejski Stadium after this weekend's game against Sheffield Wednesday under the terms of his initial deal. However, the 24-year-old will now remain in East Anglia as the club battle for survival in the Championship with six games remaining. Norwich manager Gunn told the club's official website: "I'm absolutely delighted and want to thank Reading for giving us the opportunity to have David for the remainder of the season. "He can't play against Reading but we look forward to him making an important contribution in the other games left. "He has brought what I said from the beginning, which is goals and enthusiasm and he's a great guy to have around the dressing room - a good Irish sense of humour which keeps us smiling."
