Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has ear-marked Italy and Juventus hardman Giorgio Chiellini as the man to replace Nemanja Vidic should the Serb leave Old Trafford this summer.Converted centre-back Chiellini has seen his stock rise markedly since moving into the middle from his original full-back role. Ferguson is hopeful a bid of £25m will be enough to lure the defender away from Serie A. The 25-year-old is one of the hottest properties in Italian football but is paid modestly compared with other leading lights. Chiellini's £1.7m-a-year contract has two years to run and a new deal has not been forthcoming.
