Mido backs Bruce as best

Wigan Athletic striker Mido has rated Steve Bruce as the best manager he has played under. The Egyptian international has played for nine clubs in seven countries, arriving at the JJB Stadium in January on loan from Middlesbrough. And the 26-year-old striker admits he would not be surprised if Bruce guides seventh-placed Latics into Europe ahead of Sunday's clash with sixth-placed Everton at Goodison Park."In my opinion, Steve Bruce is the best manager I have ever worked with," Mido told the Wigan Evening Post"I have worked with a lot of good managers of different nationalities during my career."I would put him up with Luciano Spalletti at Roma as the best two managers I have played under."I've played in quite a few countries for some big clubs, and judging with that experience, Steve has been doing everything right."His training and management is excellent, and he gets on well with the lads and that is what you need from a manager."Latics stayMido is enjoying his time with the Latics and feels a new fitness regime has helped him overcome the injuries which have dogged him in the past couple of seasons. The goals have yet to flow for the former Tottenham forward, with the penalty he netted on his debut against Liverpool his only one to date. But he hopes to do enough during the remaining eight games to earn a permanent transfer to the club in the summer.Mido said: "I agreed with Steve before I signed that we wouldn't talk about next season before this one was finished."I'm trying to do my best here in order to have a good future."I don't know what will happen in the summer, but if you were to ask me now what I'd like to happen, I would love to be here next season."The team is doing well, and I don't see any reason why we can't get into Europe."
