Bees rocked by MacDonald injury

The 28-year-old was stretchered off during Saturday's draw with promotion rivals Gillingham and will see a specialist on Wednesday for a scan on his shoulder. The Bees' top-scorer may be forced out of the rest of the campaign but is hopeful he can play some part in the promotion run-in. "I've never had this sort of injury before so I've no idea how long I might be out. Hopefully the damage to the ligaments won't be too bad and I can play again before the end of the season," said MacDonald,. "I knew when it happened that I had dislocated it. I put my hand on my shoulder to check it was okay and the bone wasn't where it should be. All I could feel was muscle. "The most gutting thing is, having played more or less every game, I may not be able to see it through. I'll have to wait and see, but I'm remaining optimistic. No matter how much you have contributed to the season you really want to be out there and involved in the final game."
