Torres delighted to be back

Fernando Torres is raring to go at the World Cup after scoring on his return from injury for Spain. The Liverpool striker missed the end of the league season after undergoing knee surgery and came off the bench against Poland to play his first game since 8 April. The 26-year-old was delighted to be back in action after replacing David Villa in the 66th minute, scoring the fifth goal in a 6-0 friendly win in Murcia."I am very happy because now it is nearly two months after the surgery and I haven't noticed any problems," he said."This was a very important day to me because to play in the World Cup is most important."The minutes I played were useful to gain rhythm and to confirm that my knee is good."It was perfect, and to get a goal as well, I'm very happy."The goal was Torres' 25th in 74 appearances for Spain, who are hoping to follow up their Euro 2008 success.Victory over Poland in their final warm-up match means Spain head into the World Cup on the back of 12 straight wins. But Torres warned fans they have plenty of work to do in South Africa to be crowned world champions too."We have recuperated and our timing is there on the field," he added."But the World Cup is very long and it will not be easy."
