Rooney revels with England

Wayne Rooney believes England are progressing under Fabio Capello following Saturday's 4-0 victory over Slovakia. The Manchester United forward scored a double, while Emile Heskey and Frank Lampard also netted at Wembley.Rooney's brace took his tally to seven in the last four international appearances, and he is revelling in his role for England."I am enjoying it," he said. "The team is progressing really well. Hopefully we can keep winning and I keep scoring."Steve [Gerrard] and me changed positions a lot and it seemed to work."I am getting on the ball and getting in space. At times, I think we did that."However, Rooney admits injuries to strikers Heskey, Peter Crouch and Carlton Cole took the gloss off the win ahead of Wednesday's World Cup qualifier with Ukraine."Overall, it was a good performance and a well-deserved win," he added. "It is a bit sad we got the injuries early on, but it was a good build-up for us."And the 23-year-old also had praise for David Beckham after the midfielder made a second-half substitute appearance to break Bobby Moore's outfield record with a 109th England cap."David has set me up for a few goals, so I have to thank him for that," said Rooney."It is a great achievement. All of the players are really pleased for him. You could see how much he is loved by everybody, the players and the fans."
