Treacy fears for Ireland future

Treacy, who has made 16 appearances for Rovers this season, was handed the Under-21s captaincy by Givens last August but has been frozen out since failing to report for a friendly against Lithuania in October.Treacy insists his absence was simply down to a misunderstanding but Givens refused to accept the 20-year-old's apology and the winger does not expect to be given a reprieve. He told the Irish Daily Star: "There were crossed wires somewhere along the line and I've been made out here as a bad boy. I rang Don when the squad for (February's) Germany game came out and apologised about the whole situation. "That wasn't good enough for him - he told me he'd never play in his team again and put the phone down on me. "I'm finding this very hard to take. Playing for my country means everything for me and I've been doing it since I was 14."
