Holmes hoping to convince Wotte

Holmes, who has spent two months on the sidelines with a knee injury, came through half an hour of reserves action against Reading on Wednesday and hopes to start for the second string against Gillingham on Monday night.Wotte has already insisted he needs to get a full game under his belt before he will be considered for a full return but Holmes is raring to go."The Reading game was a good hurdle crossed and I'm quite pleased. It was another challenge and I'm pleased to have got through the game without any problems," he told the Southampton Echo."We'll see what the manager wants to do and it will be his decision if he thinks I'm fit enough and ready."
