Hoops' N'Guemo hopes lifted by Nancy

Celtic's bid to sign loan ace Landry N'Guemo has been boosted by his club Nancy after they extended his buy-out clause until next week. The Parkhead club were originally given until 5pm on Monday to come up with the £1.8million that would secure the Cameroon midfielder on a permanent contract. Their previous offer of £1.2million was rejected last month and they looked likely to lose out on Nguemo to an interested Premier League club such as Wigan or Sunderland. But the French outfit have decided to hold off until Friday before N'Guemo is put on the open market. If Neil Lennon is confirmed as the Hoops' new manager in the coming days, then one of his first jobs will be to make a decision over the midfielder. "A manager would normally make the decision whether to take up a loan option but as Celtic haven't had a permanent manager it's been difficult," Nancy president Jacques Rousselot told the Daily Record. "We understand this and because of the situation we will talk again with Celtic at the start of June."
