Milner - Burnout not a fear

James Milner is adamant that he does not fear burnout for Aston Villa and the England Under 21s. As the make-or-break phase of the season arrives, many players can begin to suffer from fatigue and are often keen for an opportunity to put their feet up.However, Milner - who at 23 has already played more than 200 Premier League games - insists he is not concerned by doing too much too young. The midfielder is expected to add to his record haul of 40 U21 caps when England meet Norway on Friday and he is looking forward to the prospect.ExperienceAsked if he was concerned by the number of games he has played, Milner said in the Daily Express: "Not at all. You'd be more worried if you're not being selected."Obviously the more successful you are with your club, the more you are going to be playing in cup competitions and at international level."It's great for me to be selected and to be gaining all this experience at U21 level and then the full squad. It is only going to help me become a better player."Milner, though, does recognise the importance of avoiding tiredness and believes his Villa boss, Martin O'Neill, is well aware of the burnout factor."Don't get me wrong, rest is a massive thing," he added. "I'm lucky to be at a club where the manager gives you the time off and the right amount of rest when you're playing games."
