Ashdown back from injury

Portsmouth goalkeeper Jamie Ashdown is back in action after recovering from an ankle injury. The 28-year-old, second in line to David James, had been out of action for two months after picking up a knock in training.Fit again - Ashdown is hoping to contribute towards Pompey's bid for Premier League survival under their third manager of the campaign Paul HartBeginning his recovery around the time of Tony Adams' dismissal, Ashdown said he is relieved the club are finally starting to settle.Accustomed"I'm pretty much used to this," he said. "The first year I came here, Harry (Redknapp) left within about five months and Alain Perrin took over."It was pretty similar to then so I'm accustomed to that, really. But it's starting to get back to the norm again now."It's taken a few weeks but the boys seem to be gelling together again under the new management."Proving a reliable understudy to number one choice James, Ashdown is concentrating on developing his fitness in the reserves.ReturnReflecting on his return in the second string's 2-2 draw with Fulham, Ashdown said: "It was fantastic to be back on the pitch."It's been nearly three months since I last played so it was good to get back to try put myself back in the fold."It's always a frustrating time when you're injured."You just have to try to be professional and get fit again.
