Sunderland overtake Wigan in the race for Argentina striker Mauro Boselli

Sunderland are poised to reap the benefit of John Benson's departurefrom Wigan after jumping to the front of the queue for Estudiantesstriker Mauro Boselli. Benson, on Wigan's behalf, looked to have agreed a £6million deal inprinciple for the Argentina international. Yet the Wigan generalmanager has left the club - putting the deal in doubt and paving theway for rivals Sunderland to step in.  Target: Mauro Boselli is wanted by Sunderland Sunderland are also interested in Estudiantes's 27-year-old right backMarcos Angeleri after assistant manager Eric Black watched him earlierthis month.
