Cotterill on Pompey's wanted list

Portsmouth administrator Andrew Andronikou has revealed Notts County manager Steve Cotterill is in the frame to take over the debt-ridden club. Cotterill led the Magpies to promotion to League One after losing just one game in 18 and, because he was only on a short-term deal at Meadow Lane, has been linked with a host of vacant managerial jobs.Andronikou believes Cotterill's accomplishments, which have included four promotions, could lift the disillusioned Pompey players following their relegation from the Premier League."He (Cotterill) is one of eight or nine managers that have been recommended to us. He was recommended by a third party," Andronikou told the Nottingham Evening Post."His CV precedes him. He is the sort of motivator that our players need to take them forward."The fact he is out of contract at the end of the month is not a factor. We are looking for the right individual, not at their availability."
