Agbonlahor added to Under 21s

Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor has been called into the England Under 21 squad for the games against Norway and France. Agbonlahor was overlooked by Fabio Capello for the senior squad for the upcoming friendly against Slovakia and 2010 World Cup qualifier with Ukraine.The youngster had started England's last match against Spain in February, but is currently experiencing a poor run in front of goal.He has netted just once in his last 16 appearances for Villa and was dropped to the bench for Sunday's 5-0 defeat at title-chasing Liverpool.Agbonlahor has now been drafted into Stuart Pearce's Under 21 plans for the friendly double-header and will be in contention for a starting role.Pearce has also added defensive duo Ryan Shawcross and Martin Cranie to his squad following changes to his original selection.Steven Taylor and Theo Walcott have withdrawn due to injury, while Tottenham winger Aaron Lennon has been called into the senior squad.
