Dale boss blasts 'greedy' McArdle

Rochdale manager Keith Hill has accused defender Rory McArdle of quitting Spotland and heading to Scottish side Aberdeen simply out of greed. Defender McArdle was one of several out-of-contract players offered new terms at Dale ahead of next season's League One campaign.Having been offered a new deal, Rochdale would have received compensation had McArdle switched to another English club as he is under 24.But a loophole in the laws governing the game allowed him to sign for the Dons without the Scottish Premier League outfit having to pay a penny to Dale.Hill told the Manchester Evening News: "I can't see anything other than greed in Rory going to Aberdeen. He's gone to Aberdeen purely as there is no financial implication or compensation involved."
