Portsmouth's administrator has revealed David James has offered himself as a candidate for a management role at the club following Avram Grant's departure.   Administrator Andrew Andronikou does not expect England goalkeeper James to become the club's new boss but suggests the 39-year-old could have a role to play in deciding who is installed.  Andronikou told BBC Radio Solent: 'David has expressed an interest in taking the next stage of his career into management.   Safe hands: David James could step up to the hot seat at Portsmouth'Albeit we believe it has come a bit too early to appoint him as manager.'Andronikou added: 'I believe he will have an input into the decision going forward.   'I think everyone has an input into what is going to happen, but the David James question is very much core to our decision-making.'
