Seagulls boss still optimistic

The Iron's leading scorer Gary Hooper drilled a right-foot shot into the bottom corner for his 27th goal of the season before half-time in the League One clash at Glanford Park.Brighton were reduced to 10 men in the 79th minute when centre-back Matt Heath was sent-off for bringing down Hooper in the box and midfielder Grant McCann despatched the resulting spot kick.A second successive away defeat left the Seagulls deep in relegation trouble while Scunthorpe continue to challenge for a quick return to the Championship."We are still capable of winning four or five games and that might be just enough to keep us up," Slade said."At least there were some positives to take out of the game that weren't there when we got beat 3-0 at Walsall in midweek."We knew Scunthorpe would come out strongly at us and I thought we had just about weathered the storm. Their first goal came at a bad time for us just before the interval."We put an extra man forward in the second half and had a spell where we got on top but to be honest we did not create any glaring chances."
