King hails Spurs' super six

edley King has hailed the fact that Tottenham are the most represented club in England's provisional World Cup squad. Spurs are the most represented of the clubs in Fabio Capello's 30-man party, which is heading out to Austria next week for a training camp before being whittled down to the final 23-man squad for South Africa. The Spurs skipper has been joined by fellow centre-half Michael Dawson in the provisional squad, as well as midfield team-mates Aaron Lennon and Tom Huddlestone and strike partnership Jermain Defoe and Peter Crouch. King believes having so many players in the squad is a measure of the great season Spurs have had - in which Harry Redknapp's side qualified for the Champions League for the first time.He told the club's official website: "I'm looking forward to the training camp and there are six lads from Spurs so I'll be in good company. "It's a reflection of the season that we've had and there are other Spurs players who could have been involved in the squad had they played more this season. "It just goes to show we have a great base of English players at this club. "Any player will tell you they dream of playing in the World Cup and so far I've never had the opportunity to do that. "To be picked in the 30-man squad gives me the opportunity to prove that I deserve to go to South Africa."Fellow centre-half Dawson is one of only two uncapped players in the squad but King is confident his team-mate will rise to the occasion. He added: "It's brilliant for Daws and thoroughly deserved after the season he's had - I don't think there has been a better centre-half in the country, so I'm delighted for him. "I think people underestimate him as a ball player. He's comfortable on the ball, has a great range of passing, and he's been getting better and better. "I'm sure that England fans will see that."
