Darlington expand youth system
Darlington will continue the expansion of their youth department by opening two new advanced development centres in Billingham and Darlington this summer. After launching similar ventures in Gateshead and Peterlee the centres will help the club recruit talented youngsters from the North-East. Trials for the centres take place on May 15 and May 22 at Hummersnott School, Darlington and June 5 and June 12 at SRC Sports Centre, Billingham. Places must be booked in advance, telephone 0845 003 8388 or email admin@elitedc.org. Darlington will play two Northern League clubs in pre-season friendlies. The Quakers visit Billingham Synthonia on Saturday, July 31 and Newton Aycliffe on Wednesday, August 4.
