Royle relishing Latics reunion

The Latics appointed Royle, who previously spent a successful 12-year spell with the club between 1982-1994, as boss until the end of the season after they parted company with John Sheridan following the humbling 6-2 defeat at MK Dons last Saturday."They told me what was happening," Royle told the Football League podcast. "They told me they'd just parted company with John Sheridan and they said would I see them through to the end of the season and that's all it is at the moment."I just said yes. I couldn't say no to Oldham. I still have two boys that live in the area, they live in Saddleworth. I still have relatives that live around Broadway."I still keep in touch regularly with events, I've been to Oldham several times so it's still got a big place in my heart and it wasn't hard to say yes."
