Caldwell thanks Clarets physios

Departing Burnley defender Steven Caldwell had a special message of thanks to the club's physiotherapists Andy Mitchell and Luke Bussey. After starting 57 matches in the Clarets promotion-winning season of 2008/9 - when they also reached the semi-finals of the Carling Cup - the 29-year-old Scot was restricted to just 12 starts in the Barclays Premier League because of a pelvic injury. But despite that Caldwell believes had it not been for the Clarets' medical staff he could have been looking at retiring earlier than he intends to as he looks for a new club after being told he will not be offered a new contract at Turf Moor this summer."I have a lot to thank them for. They have probably put a few years on my career," he said.
