Darlington make double signing

Darlington have today completed the signing of two players, including an international goalkeeper. Kelvin Jack has 33 Trinidad and Tobago caps, and played at the 2006 World Cup finals, has signed a one-year deal at The Northern Echo Arena. The other new recruit is striker Chris Senior who has joined from Altrincham for whom he scored 15 goals in 40 games in the Blue Square Premier this season. He too has signed a one-year contract and the pair make the number of signings made by Simon Davey up to five. "It will be between Kelvin and Sam (Russell) to fight it out for the number one, that's what I want from them," said Davey, who has brought in 34-year-old Jack from Southend United where he was out of contract. Senior spent the last three-and-a-half years with Altrincham, scoring 34 goals in 127 games. Davey said: "Chris is well experienced at playing in the Conference so he'll bring a lot to the squad. He's a quick, aggressive striker who likes to play off a big man. "He scored 15 goals last season as a part-time player with Altrincham and he knows what it's all about." *See more on this story in Saturday's The Northern Echo
