Killie chief reveals investor interest

Kilmarnock chairman Michael Johnston has confirmed Angelo Massone has been in touch about a possible investment in the Ayrshire club. But Johnston says the approach was made nine months ago and he is "cautious" of any involvement with the Italian businessman following his track record as chairman of Livingston. He told BBC Scotland: "The nature of his interest, what it is he is planning to do and how he would achieve it is opaque."Given his involvement with Livingston, and being a solicitor, I'm cautious."His interest has been known to us for some time but there has never been any concrete proposal forthcoming."Meanwhile, Johnston has confirmed Gus MacPherson would be an option for the manager's job next season if Jimmy Calderwood opts not to remain at Rugby Park.He told the Scottish Daily Express: "I wouldn't rule anything out."If Jimmy decides to say no, there is a full range of options and Gus MacPherson would clearly be one of them."
