Everton Premier League season review 2009-10

Manager: David MoyesJob well done. Everton have finished roughly where everyone expected them to finish, but that is to David Moyes's credit, not his shame, given their lack of financial firepower. Best Player: Steven PienaarThe South African has emerged this campaign as the most influential player at Goodison Park. A likely star of the World Cup and a target for several of Europe's giants. Worst Player: JoRetained on loan from Manchester City purely as squad ballast, he was returned to Eastlands and then Galatasaray after going Awol in Brazil over Christmas. Moment of the season: The Giants' GraveyardNot content with drawing at the Emirates and Stamford Bridge in dramatic fashion, Everton went one better and beat Chelsea and Manchester United deservedly in a week at Goodison Park. Big IssueWithout significant funds to spend in the summer, it is hard to see how Everton improve. They possess a stronger squad than at any point under Moyes's tenure, but need to work out how to push on. Verdict: 7 out of 10Everton have finished where they were meant to finish, but so good has their form been since November that they should start next season in bullish mood. --Read more of Telegraph Sport's Premier League season reviews: Arsenal | Aston Villa | Birmingham | Blackburn | Bolton | Burnley | Chelsea | Everton | Fulham | Hull | Liverpool | Man City | Man Utd | Portsmouth | Stoke | Sunderland | Tottenham | West Ham | Wigan | Wolves
