HATCHET MAN: Two goals in two matches hardly makes shin-digger Essien prolific - he's only got 16 in

Michael Essien is back for Chelsea and powering them forward as if he had never  been away. But don't be fooled into thinking the midfielder has developed a sharp shooting  habit in the six months he has been out with a serious knee injury. Two goals in two games is pretty impressive since his return and he has earned  and deserves a bit of luck, but that is all it is. Prolific: Michael Essien celebrates his second goal in two gamesAnyone who saw the way the ball flew in off his shin with his fluky, misjudged  shooting effort against Manchester City will know that.Essien had scored 14 goals in 146 appearances for Chelsea before his last two  matches and goalscoring is the one area of his game which is sub-standard so he  will no doubt be hitting the back of the stand with his shots again soon.   More from Hatchet Man. HATCHET MAN: Unhappy fans should target O'Neill, the real Villan of the piece, not burned-out Agbonlahor 16/03/09 HATCHET MAN: Come clean Sir Alex: It was cowardice, not anger, that made you dodge the Sky TV cameras16/03/09 HATCHET MAN: He's cost City £800,000 a goal and travels worse than cheese in a spacesuit - happy 29th week of fleecing City, Mr Robinho16/03/09 HATCHET MAN: Robinson's attack on his West Brom team-mates is more ill-timed than brave13/03/09 HATCHET MAN: Owen's return at Newcastle is nothing more than a 'massive' anti-climax13/03/09 HATCHET MAN: Dancing fiend: Wright-Phillips goal celebration was more like an Abba routine13/03/09 HATCHET MAN: Arsenal's narrow victory in Rome doesn't mean their problems are ancient history13/03/09 HATCHET MAN: Rooney may live to regret his hate-filled outburst ahead of Liverpool clash13/03/09 VIEW FULL ARCHIVE
