Christian Fuchs retires from internationals after Austria's Euro 2016 exit

Austria captain Christian Fuchs has announced his retirement from international football following the team's exit from Euro 2016.The Leicester defender announced in a video on his Facebook page that the 78th cap he won in the team's defeat to Iceland in their final Group F match would be his last. "I want to let you know that the game against Iceland was my last in red-white-red," said the 30-year-old. "I am very proud of the 10 years that I have spent with the national team. I did everything with passion and, as I said, I am very, very proud."Fuchs joined Leicester from Schalke at the start of last season, playing a key role in their remarkable Premier League title triumph.Austria disappointed in France, finishing bottom of their pool with just one point from three games.
