Derbyshire catches the eye

Matt Derbyshire continues to catch the eye in Greece as he stepped off Olympiakos' substitutes' bench to score twice in their win over Iraklis. The England Under 21 international is currently on-loan at the Greek giants and is fast becoming somewhat of a cult hero amongst the club's faithful.Earlier in the month Derbyshire got off the mark for his new club as a winning goal against PAOK Saloniki sent them into the Greek Cup semi-final.On Sunday he again showed his predatory instincts with a well taken double in the club's 5-0 thumping of Iraklis.Derbyshire's switch to Greece in the January transfer window surprised many at Ewood Park, given he has always been highly thought of in the North West. The win leaves Olympiakos well on course to win the title as they sit at the summit of the Greek top flight, nine points ahead of Panathinaikos.DelightedDerbyshire was delighted with his first two league goals for Olympiakos and is hoping his goalscoring heroics will help earn a starting spot in the side."It was really important the fact that I scored two goals helping Olympiakos to win this game," Derbyshire told the Greek media. "We are very close to reach our target. My job is to score goals. "I work very hard at training and I am really upset when I don't play. That's why I left England - I wanted to play more. "It's fantastic to score in front of the fans of Olympiakos. I want to stay at Olympiakos but also I want to have more time on the pitch."
