Ebanks-Blake remains upbeat

Despite enduring a difficult season, Sylvan-Ebanks Blake is trying to stay as positive as possible. The Wolves striker has seen his 2009/10 campaign disrupted by injury and a tactical switch which has left him on the sidelines for long periods. As a result, the man who helped to fire Mick McCarthy's side into the Premier League has often been resigned to little more than a support role. Many had tipped him to make a major impression on the top flight, after notching 25 times last season, but he has been unable to match those expectations.A late equaliser in a 1-1 draw with Blackburn on Saturday was just his second goal of the season, having converted from the penalty spot against Aston Villa way back in October.Ebanks-Blake admits the season has not gone as he had hoped, but the 24-year-old striker is confident that he can still be a major player at Molineux in the future. He said: "I was unfortunate to get injured. I had built up a bit of momentum in the last few years but this season it hasn't happened and it's been difficult."I know some people will be wondering what happened to me, but football is like that."We have changed the system and I've not played as much but the boys have been brilliant."You just have to stay upbeat. I'm very fortunate to be a Premier League player and I'm part of a squad that's staying up."We have grown together as the season has gone on and believed we could play at this level. Teams turn up here and know they're going to be in for a hard game."
