Zola given Gold vote of confidence

West Ham co-chairman David Gold says Gianfranco Zola "deserves another crack" next season after leading the club to Premier League safety. The Hammers beat Wigan 3-2 on Saturday to virtually secure their top-flight status for next season with Hull six points behind and on a hugely inferior goal difference.Zola has received questionable public backing at times from Gold and fellow co-owner David Sullivan, but he looks likely to remain in his role at Upton Park."I would hope Franco stays," Gold said in the Daily Express."He has been through hell and back. It has been a very difficult season for him."Now he knows he is part of West Ham and he deserves another crack."
