Clarets chairman looks to youngsters

Burnley chairman Barry Kilby believes the Clarets' return to the Coca-Cola Championship will give them more of a chance to blood young talent. The club's relegation after only one season in the top flight was confirmed on Sunday with defeat by Liverpool.Kilby, though, thinks there could be a silver lining if it allows the likes of Jay Rodriguez, David Edgar and Alex-Ray Harvey to develop into first-team regulars.Kilby told the club's official website: "Jay is an example I would give. By going down it does give you a better chance to bring the young players through, if you are going to take any sort of positive from it."Man Utd, Liverpool and Chelsea have the cream of the youth, but even for them it's so hard to get them into the Premier League because you can't risk it."Kilby has vowed to try to keep most of the squad together but there are likely to be some departures. He added: "Financial budgets are being done this week. We had a meeting last week and we have a big meeting on Wednesday and then we will start putting faces and personalities to the cash."
