Allardyce rules out World Cup mission

lackburn boss Sam Allardyce says he won't be scouting any players at the World Cup this summer, instead he'll be an England armchair fan Allardyce has no plans to head to South Africa in any capacity, in particular in terms of scouting for new players.Allardyce feels he only needs two additions to complement his squad with negotiations still ongoing for one of those in Portsmouth's on-loan Lens striker Aruna Dindane. With that being the case, it will allow Allardyce to put his feet up when the World Cup starts on June 11 and cheer on Fabio Capello's side."When the season finishes I'll be going away with the family first, but I'm not sure I'm going out to South Africa," said Allardyce."There won't be any point going out to look at players, that's for sure."Anything you need to do, you would want to do it before the World Cup and not when it's on because if you see a player you like and he does really well, everybody wants him and the price trebles."On that basis we wouldn't be in a position to compete."If there is a chance of going out there and taking in a game just to watch rather than do any scouting, then I'll wait and see."But at the moment I'm not planning on scouting at the World Cup when it comes round."So it's just about supporting England. I enjoy a game on a big screen, with all the build-up, so I'm looking forward."From England's point of view, it's about keeping their fingers crossed everybody will be fit in time to take part."If that's the case, hopefully we'll go at least one stage further than the quarter finals which is what we have done in recent tournaments."Although there are two matches remaining, against Arsenal at Ewood Park on Monday and at Aston Villa on the final day, Allardyce this week sent his players away on a mini-break to Gleneagles.Admitting his players are as fit as they can be at this stage of the season, he felt there was no point flogging them into the ground."They've had a long, hard season and deserve this break to get themselves ready for these final two games," added Allardyce."With this next match on a Monday, rather than boring the pants off them and bringing them in for training, which they're sick to death of anyway, we thought taking a break would be better for them."For me, at this time of the season, relaxing, enjoying the company of one another and playing a little bit of golf together is more important than training."Injured duo Chris Samba and Brett Emerton did not travel due to groin and hamstring problems respectively, but should be fit to face the Gunners.El-Hadji Diouf and Vince Grella also come into contention after missing last weekend's draw at Wolves with tonsilitis and a stomach bug respectively.
