France defender Raphael Varane has been ruled out of Euro 2016 with a thigh injury. The 23-year-old suffered the problem during training with his club Real Madrid, who are preparing for the Champions League final, over the weekend and scans on Tuesday showed a grade-two tear.France coach Didier Deschamps called up Adil Rami on Monday as cover and the Sevilla centre-half now takes his place in Les Bleus' 23-man squad.A statement on the France Football Federation's website read: " The clinical examination and MRI on Tuesday morning at the Rambouillet hospital in every way confirmed the initial diagnosis of the medical staff of Real Madrid, namely a torn left biceps femoris grade two. " Didier Deschamps has decided not to retain Raphael Varane for Euro 2016. As a result , the coach made the decision to integrate Adil Rami in the list of 23." Having been left out of the original squad on May 12, Rami was critical of Deschamps - who stated at the time he was selecting the best team rather than purely the best individuals. "I feel like he is saying that I am not a good man, that I am a hooligan," Rami told Radio Monte Carlo last Friday."If we are talking about football, I don't see why I am not going to the Euro." Hosts France kick-off their campaign against Romania at the Stade de France on June 10.
