Fergie questions Wembley semis

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson believes staging the FA Cup semi-finals at Wembley devalues the competition. There was a time when the opportunity to tread the hallowed turf was restricted to those who graced a cup final and those fortunate enough to represent their country. However, times have changed and now a last-four place in knockout competition is enough to earn a day out at the home of English football.Ferguson's United are set to meet Everton at Wembley on 19th April for the right to face either Chelsea, Arsenal or Hull City in the FA Cup final.Toffees boss David Moyes has been critical of the decision to host the game in the capital, and his sentiments have been echoed by his managerial counterpart at Old Trafford."I agree with David that playing the semi-finals at Wembley devalues the cup," Ferguson told United Review."This is a decision by the FA that pushes up costs for the fans."It is likely the price of tickets at Wembley will be a lot higher than if the game was at Villa Park."Wembley should be reserved for finals, and the least the FA can do now is reduce the Wembley prices to a level more in keeping with those of club tickets."
