West Ham and Sheffield United 'settle on £10m' over the Carlos Tevez affair

The Carlos Tevez saga appears to be over after reports that West Hamand Sheffield United have agreed a deal close to £10million.Audition: Carlos Tevez scores for West Ham against Manchester United in May 2007The Championship club had wanted £45m to cover the costs of their relegation from the Premier League two years ago after West Ham broke third-party ownership rules.But they have reportedly agreed to a smaller figure ahead of an independent FA arbitration hearing, which was due to start next week, that would have led to a judgement on compensation.
