Kitson - Stoke move a mistake

Dave Kitson admits he should never have left Reading after revealing his £5million move to Stoke City was a 'mistake'. The striker has returned to Championship promotion hopefuls Reading on loan until the end of the season after struggling to make an impact at Stoke. He failed to score in 18 appearances for the Potters and had not featured in a first-team game for almost two months before rejoining the Royals.Kitson was Stoke's record signing, but believes he 'compromised everything' by deciding to leave Reading for the challenge at the Britannia Stadium.Unforgivable"I compromised everything I had at this football club, which was a lot," said Kitson. "Now, looking back, and with that in mind, you have to put your hands up and say I made a mistake, nobody else."I made the decision, nobody forced me to go to Stoke."I went there thinking I could start a new challenge and do well for another less fashionable club and keep it in the Premier League. I was wrong and I put my hands up."You should never compromise your family's happiness and that is what I did. That is unforgivable."
