Kuyt fires United warning

Dirk Kuyt believes Liverpool can keep the title race alive with victory over Manchester United on Saturday. Sir Alex Ferguson's men have not dropped a single point at home since being held to a 1-1 draw by Newcastle on the opening day of the season and Kuyt accepts it will be difficult to go to Old Trafford and win. However, the Dutchman has been buoyed by Liverpool's magnificent 4-0 victory over Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League in midweek."Beating Real 4-0 at Anfield has to be one of our biggest results in years and it sets us up perfectly for Saturday," Kuyt said in the Daily Mail."It was the ideal performance and result ahead of such a huge game and it underlined how capable we are now of beating top teams."United are a very good team, but so are Real."MessageLiverpool defeated United at Anfield earlier in the season and have also beaten Chelsea at home and away in the Premier League. They remain seven points off the pace, with United also having a game in hand, but Kuyt has not given up hope of making up the difference. He said: "When you look at what we have already done against United and Chelsea, and now against Madrid, it shows we can get the better of big opponents."United are playing really well, especially at home, but we need all three points and will be giving it all we can. "The title race would be over if we lost but winning would send out a big message, even bigger than the one against Real."There would still be a gap to make up, but we can think about that later. All that matters for now is winning."
