Adebayor: I'll be on my best behaviour

Emmanuel Adebayor insists he will not be out to cause any more controversy when he returns to Arsenal for the first time with Manchester City. The Togo striker left Arsenal for City last summer and whipped up a storm when he played against his former club back in September. After scoring City's third goal in the 4-2 win, Adebayor ran the length of the pitch to celebrate in front of the travelling Gunners fans and was later fined £25,000 for the incident. He also received a three-match for stamping on Robin van Persie, but Adebayor is determined to ensure his appearance at Emirates Stadium on Saturday passes by without incident."If I score I will celebrate with my fans," Adebayor told The Sun. "The match against Arsenal is very important for us."I am calm about the game and do not desire any controversy with the Gunners supporters."I always try to be respectful on the pitch. I was very professional during my stay in Arsenal and nobody could doubt that."Adebayor remains convinced he made the right decision in quitting the Gunners for City and is determined to help his current club qualify for the Champions League. He added: "I wanted another project so I was not unhappy to leave Arsenal. City are a big project and could be the biggest of all next season. "I have still many friends at Arsenal. But one question is about friendship, the other sport. "I wanted a better challenge, although these things are never quick and easy at a club with so many new players. Personally, I don't think City fans have seen the best of me yet in this team. "But my ambition is to play Champions League with Manchester City next season. We have a chance and these will improve if we win in London. So the match with Arsenal is a like a final for us."
