Gers waiting on Wilson prognosis

Rangers boss Walter Smith faces an anxious wait to discover the extent of an injury picked up by teenage defender Danny Wilson. The 18-year-old suffered a knock during a practice match against Celtic at Murray Park on Wednesday and will go for a specialist scan on Friday.Reports suggest the young centre-half could be sidelined for the remainder of the season and miss the Scottish champions' final four games as they edge closer to retaining the Scottish Premier League title. But, according to the club's official website, the full extent of the problem will not be known until after the scan.Wilson has enjoyed an impressive debut season for Rangers and has made 24 appearances so far, including Champions League and Old Firm fixtures. He was a regular in the heart of defence alongside David Weir, until Madjid Bougherra's recent return from injury. His displays have already attracted interest from south of the border, with Rangers confirming Liverpool have made an enquiry.Wilson was named Rangers' young player of the year on Sunday and has also been nominated for the PFA Scotland prize.
