Salgado's still a class act - Sam

lackburn boss Sam Allardyce believes veteran defender Michel Salgado has made a mockery of those who thought he was over the hill. The Spaniard joined Rovers on a free transfer last summer after being deemed surplus to requirements at Real Madrid. Now 34 years old, many feared the full-back was on his last legs and would struggle to cope with the demands of the Premier League.A shaky start to his time at Ewood Park only served to add fuel to the fire, but since finding his feet he has offered a reassuring presence and vital big game experience."He is out there leading by example," said Allardyce."Our young lads are playing well for us but Michel is doing more than his bit and his experience has proved invaluable."He has come to terms with what it takes to play in the Premier League and, since December, has been outstanding."There is not a fitter lad about, that's what I like about him."
