Pompey: No sales before cup final

Portsmouth's administrator Andrew Andronikou has confirmed the club will not agree to sell any players before the FA Cup final. The Premier League's bottom club were recently granted permission to sell players outside of the transfer window due to the financial situation at Fratton Park. The likes of Nadir Belhadj, Kevin-Prince Boateng and Marc Wilson have been linked with other clubs, while promising teenager Lenny Sowah has been attracting interest. However, Andronikou is putting all discussions regarding possible departures on hold until after Portsmouth have faced Chelsea in the cup final at Wembley on 15 May."There will be absolutely no sales before the Cup final," Andronikou told The News. "I can assure supporters of that."It's going to be difficult enough without looking to offload players, so that is something not on our agenda."There is a core half-a-dozen players attracting interest. I have also already had a few enquiries about Lenny Sowah. They are purely enquiries at the moment. "The agents have been told to take note of any offers, but not to bring them to us at this moment in time."We will look at the situation after the final game of the season - not before."Andronikou also revealed that Kanu has accepted a compromise deal regarding bonuses he is entitled to, with several other players due to follow suit.He added: "I now expect everyone to be available from now until the end of the season."Kanu, being the gentleman and true professional he is, has come to an agreement with us and a compromise has been reached."These players want to represent this club and deserve credit for their willingness to compromise."
