'Great moment' for hitman Brett

The 32-year-old striker began his second spell at Bloomfield Road when he made a winter transfer window switch from Preston, and ended his long wait to reach the century by giving Blackpool the lead at Bloomfield Road on Saturday. His 99th league goal had come during a loan spell at Nottingham Forest almost a full 12 months ago.Ormerod said: "Blackpool has always had a special place for me."That is why I was prepared to come back here."I am getting my sharpness back. That was my 100th league goal. I decided I had been on 99 far too long so it was a great moment for me."Ormerod's opener 10 minutes into the second half had a touch of fortune as it was aided by the wind.On-loan Rangers midfielder Charlie Adam's deft chip made victory certain for the Seasiders, who climbed to 19th place, five points clear of the drop zone. The result left Norwich in 23rd place and three points from safety after Gary Doherty, Jason Shackell and Jonathan Grounds were all foiled by Blackpool goalkeeper Paul Rachubka.Blackpool caretaker-manager Tony Parkes said: "We needed that win after four home defeats on the trot."It's the first time for a long time that we have played such good football."With them being just below us it was always going to be a difficult game, but we went out with a positive attitude and once we had scored the first goal we were well on top and they really didn't create very much at all."Norwich manager Bryan Gunn believes his team can still get out of trouble, even though they failed to make the most of their strengths in the north west.Gunn said: "I thought we had a couple of chances in the first half where I thought our extra height would give us an advantage particularly at the set-pieces."I didn't read the riot act at half-time because I thought a win was still there for the taking but we seemed to lose our spark."I don't know if their first goal was a cross or a shot but it did knock us back. I tried to make changes but things didn't work out."We have got some difficult games ahead but don't count us out. There are plenty of points at stake for the rest of the season."
