Sunderland boss Steve Bruce wants to sign Alan Hutton on permanent deal from Spurs

Defender Alan HuttonSunderland manager Steve Bruce will ask Tottenham if they are to prepare to sell on-loan Spurs defender Alan Hutton to them on a permanent basis this summer.Hutton started just one Premier League game under Spurs boss Harry Redknapp before being loaned out to the Black Cats in February.But Bruce has been hugely impressed with the 25-year-old, who has been on the losing just twice in eight games for Sunderland.When asked if Bruce would look to make the right-back's move permanent this summer, Bruce said: We'll do our utmost. We've got to respect Tottenham and see if they want to sell him.'He's been fantastic since he's come here. He gives you so much going forward, so we'll see what develops. I'd love to make it a permanent move if I could.
