Fulham v Man Utd preview
Manchester United travel to Fulham on Saturday in the sixth round of the FA Cup as they begin what is a massive week for the club. After their trip to Craven Cottage, United host Inter Milan on Wednesday in the UEFA Champions League last-16 second leg with the tie evenly poised at 0-0.There will be no let-up for the Red Devils as just three days later they will be out to end Liverpool's title hopes once and for all as they welcome the Merseysiders on Saturday lunchtime.Fulham meanwhile will be out to book their place in the semi-finals of the competition for only the sixth time in their history.Fulham team newsManager Roy Hodgson has no new injury worries ahead of the cup clash but is likely to have learnt lessons from the club's previous encounter with United.The former Blackburn boss experimented with a 4-5-1 formation at Old Trafford for the league match just over two weeks ago and subsequently lost 3-0.The 61-year-old boss is likely to stick with his usual 4-4-2 system on Saturday as he looks to rely on his side's impressive record at Craven Cottage this term, with just two defeats in 15 games in all competitions.Hodgson is likely to stick with striker Bobby Zamora up-front despite his return of just four goals this season.Fellow striker Diomansy Kamara could be pushing for a start after recovering from a knee injury which has kept him sidelined since the summer.The 28-year-old has been on the bench for three of the Cottagers' last four games, coming on twice, and Hodgson could look to the pacey Senegalese ace to freshen things up.United team newsManager Sir Alex Ferguson has no new injuries with long-term casualties Rafael (ankle), Wes Brown (foot) and Owen Hargreaves (knee) the only guaranteed absentees.Number one Edwin Van der Sar looks set to miss out against his former club with his manager set to give him another rest. The Dutch shot-stopper conceded his first goal in 1,311 minutes of league football on Wednesday at Newcastle and Carling Cup final hero Ben Foster looks set to benefit.Ferguson may have one eye on Wednesday's visit of Jose Mourinho's side so one of either Rio Ferdinand or Nemanja Vidic could step down with Jonny Evans coming in.Midfielders Paul Scholes and Darren Gibson will also be looking to start after both were left out for the midweek trip to the North East.Fellow midfielder Anderson could force his way in after returning from an ankle injury from the bench against Tottenham in the Carling Cup final after nearly a month on the sidelines.Argentinean forward Carlos Tevez should be recovered from his Carling Cup exertions after being left out against the Magpies and he could be handed a start.Finally Cristiano Ronaldo could find himself on the bench after completing 120 minutes against Spurs on Sunday and then 90 minutes against Newcastle just three days later.
